The 3 Most Important Words

October 3, 2014 by

Living the Christian life isn’t always easy, yet its beginning stems from understanding a simple, but fundamental truth.

Jesus loves you.

Did you hear me?

I cannot think of 3 more important words that I could share with you.

Please don’t let these words just wash over you. Let them sink deep into your heart and soul because truly knowing and experiencing the truth behind them changes everything.

Stellar Kart says this beautifully in their song:

I can’t make it clearer
Put it any other way
If you can’t see the simple truth I do
Then there’s nothing in this world that’s left to say
But Jesus loves you

I know I don’t have all the answers
And I have wasted many chances
To prove to you a faith that lives inside
I’m praying there will be a breakthrough
Cause I can’t be the one to save you
God knows how many times I’ve tried

I can’t explain
But I can’t deny
So many times for you I’ve cried
And to see you on your knees tonight

I can’t make it clearer
Put it any other way
To know you know the simple truth I do
And to know that your forever has been changed
Cause Jesus loves you

I’m sure that your day is filled with the necessary to-do’s of life, but I pray that you would take a moment here and there to ponder the truth that the God of the universe loves YOU.

He sent His Son to die on a cross so that your sins would be forgiven and you can have fellowship with the Almighty. All because He loves you.

Yes, you. I know you haven’t lived a perfect life. None of us have. I know you’ve made mistakes. God knows I certainly have. I know you’re not perfect, but God wants to have you set apart from the world and made holy in Him.

Would you let Him? Would you open your heart to Him today, knowing that He opened His heart to you long ago?

He loves you. You. Right this minute. Right where you are. He isn’t waiting for you to change. He is simply waiting. For you.

In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. ~1 John 4:9

We love Him because He first loved us. ~1 John 4:19

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. ~John 3:16

If you have never asked Jesus to come into your heart, would you consider doing that today? He loves you more at this moment than He ever will. You don’t have to be concerned that you aren’t good enough for His love because the truth is that none of us are and yet He loves us anyway.

Heavenly Father, thank You for bestowing upon us a love that is greater than we can comprehend. Let us ponder the richness of that love deeply and often that we might be changed by the truth of it. Thank You for sending Your precious Son to die that we might live. It is in His holy and precious name that we pray. Amen.

“May we ponder the richness of that love deeply and often that we might be changed by the truth of it”… what a powerful prayer reminder of the core of our gospel message. And in those times we find ourselves not feeling His love, we need to ponder further, back to the cross and His voluntary suffering that proved this love and set us free.
Loved that song choice as well Heather. I enjoyed a morning sermon, worship and prayer time all in one! Jesus loves us, and he loves you Heather!

He loves you, too, Daddy! You bring up an excellent point that we don’t always feel His love, yet it is there just the same. Thank you!

Years ago I was encouraged to speak my name in place of the word “world” in John 3:16. It changes it by making it personal. He is so good and gracious. Thank you for this beautiful reminder.

Yes, Deb, I remember hearing that as well, but I had since forgotten. Thank you for the reminder and for sharing that with us. Blessings!
