Walking In Love, Light, & Wisdom {The Walking Series – Part 3}

Welcome to the 3rd installment of The Walking Series. If you’re just joining us, you can read Part 1 here and Part 2 here.

So far, we have discussed the idea that we need to walk worthy of our calling. If we are to be salt and light in this world, we need to know what that looks like in a practical sense.

We have looked at the truths of what God has done for us through Jesus Christ with respect to our position with God and how we can impact the world for Christ as a result. (Ephesians Chapters 1-3)

We have considered putting off the old man, putting on the new man, renewing our minds, and my Pastor’s thoughts that “a new life demands a new lifestyle”.

We have examined Biblical behaviors such as kindness, tenderheartedness, and forgiveness for the growth and edification of the body of Christ. (Ephesians Chapter 4)

Today, we continue walking through the book of Ephesians in Chapter 5 which begins with a reminder that we should be imitators of Christ by walking in love in the same way that He has “loved us and given Himself for us”. Continue reading →

Love and Respect

I wrote a post recently called the good news about marriage (and a giveaway!)

Reading that book prompted me to write this post. You see, in her book, Shaunti Feldhahn discussed the idea that most unhappy marriages can be transformed by understanding the simple (but not always easy) concept of love and respect in a marriage. It should come as no surprise that this is a Biblical concept. That’s because it was God who instituted marriage, therefore He should be (and is) the ultimate authority of how this union is best cared for. Continue reading →
