It was one of those interrupted moments in life where God’s plans intercepted with ours.

We had spent the day in the big city in a neighboring town with more amenities than we are accustomed to. The grandparents were visiting, so we went to catch a movie, enjoy a meal, and do a little shopping.

The last stop on the list was our coveted treat at Dairy Queen before our more than an hour drive back home.

It was then that she crossed the street and stopped my husband from completing his turn to ask where the nearest park was so that she could pitch her tent to sleep for the night.

A Home With God

“Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” ~John 14:23 (NKJV)

Wow! Imagine that, God wants to make a home in you and me. He doesn’t want to be a weekend retreat house or a vacation cabin. I don’t think He’s even thinking about a retirement home. I believe God is looking for a permanent dwelling place for His Spirit to set up residence, allowing us to have an intimate fellowship with Him. Continue reading →
