It was one of those interrupted moments in life where God’s plans intercepted with ours.

We had spent the day in the big city in a neighboring town with more amenities than we are accustomed to. The grandparents were visiting, so we went to catch a movie, enjoy a meal, and do a little shopping.

The last stop on the list was our coveted treat at Dairy Queen before our more than an hour drive back home.

It was then that she crossed the street and stopped my husband from completing his turn to ask where the nearest park was so that she could pitch her tent to sleep for the night.

If you know me at all, you know that I love counting my blessings. It’s a full time job, I tell ya.

Even though I am not participating in this event on my blog, these 31 Day Challenges have inspired me to write 31 things I am thankful for.

Contentment

I wonder how many of us are truly content with the lives we have.

How much time do we spend grumbling, complaining, and wishing our lives were different?

Do we lie awake at night with worry, or rely on a substance to get us through the day?

Do we let our circumstances determine our attitude?

Christmas In July

I know… I know… no one wants to think about Christmas in the middle of summer. Hang with me, though, I have a really good reason for mentioning it now.

You see, I’m a planner by nature. I like to plan meals, schedules, budgets, etc. July 1st means that this year is half over already.

That also means that Christmas will be here before we know it. We know it’s coming. It’s the same date each year. Most people, however, find themselves unprepared, financially, when the big day comes.
