Java Whipped Cream

You guys, I just made a brilliant discovery!

(Unless, of course, this idea is all the rage on the internet and I have just now discovered it for myself. In which case, I haven’t actually discovered anything, but let me have my moment of glory, would ya?)

Anyhoo, because I am out of both real coffee and my preferred half and half in which I add to my real coffee, I am now officially in survival mode when it comes to my addiction love of all things java.

Enter: whipped cream & instant coffee.

I put water to boil on the stove, filled a giant coffee cup with whipped cream (from a can – gasp!), and impatiently waited for my water to boil.

Seeing as how I always need to be doing something, I added my instant coffee granules to my whipped cream and began to stir them in.

As the granules started to dissolve, I knew I was on to something!

Sure enough, I tasted it and just as I thought – DELICIOUS!

Here’s how I did it:

1. I used a 2-cup mug and filled it to the top with whipped cream.

2. I sprinkled 1 teaspoon of instant coffee granules (actually this organic brand is pretty good & frugal!) on top and stirred them in.

That’s it!

It doesn’t get much easier than that, does it?

(I’m sure you could do this with homemade whipped cream, too. If you try it, come back and let us know how it worked!)

Now I have an excuse to make some brownies or chocolate cake so that I have something on which to eat said brilliant discovery.

As if we really need an excuse for chocolate, right?

Enter my One-Bowl Healthier Chocolate Cupcakes! (If you haven’t tried these babies, you must. Healthier chocolate desserts mean you can eat more of them. I know – I love you, too.)

Be sure to benefit from my brilliant discovery and try this yourself.

It’s a great addition to your coffee, wonderful on top of ice cream, or a fun frosting alternative for your favorite dessert.

Enjoy!

I think that IS an amazing discovery!! What a great idea. I’m always having to do something too…moving all the time. =) Good to know you’ve been able to restock on coffee…can’t be without that necessity for long. ;-} Great post!

Thank you for making sure my cup isn’t empty, my friend! We are so alike. It’s really too bad we live so far apart. Thanks for reading. Blessings to you and yours. xo

Hi, Lux! Using cocoa is a great idea, though I would be sure to use the packaged kind that is meant to make hot chocolate rather than cocoa powder as I don’t think cocoa powder would dissolve well. If you try it, come back and let us know how it worked. Happy experimenting. Thanks for reading!

I don’t love instant coffee either, but in a pinch it can be a lifesaver. Now I really like it for this use. Enjoy. Thanks for stopping by.

I love coffee too and those mornings when I realize I’m out of it are pretty devastating! 🙂 This sounds like a special treat I could enjoy!
