…Well, you get the idea. And round and round it went, and it never seemed to stop.
Until I was; Tired, Burnt Out, Done.
This is where I was last Sunday morning as I sat in church. We had worship and a time of prayer after, and this is when God reminded me of what was missing.
I had been neglecting my time with God. I had let the busyness take over. Even when some of the stuff that I was busy with was good – ministry even. (Please tell me I am not the only one that struggles with this?)
I truly was spiritually running on empty. I was trying to live off of the crumbs from my Father’s table instead of slowing down long enough to spend time receiving from Him. I had forgotten to Stop long enough to Seek His face.
Seek and you shall find, the Bible says. I have always thought of this verse in the context of things or blessings or answers to prayer. But God also wants us to Seek Him so that He can give us what we need every minute of the day.
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. ~Matthew 7:7
On Monday, everywhere I looked I saw sunflowers…
The beautiful sunflower turns its face towards the sun because it knows that is where life, help, and sustenance come from.
Let’s be like this beautiful flower and turn our faces towards the Son.
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
~ Jeremiah 29:13

Because of Him,
I love coffee and curling up with a good book, Jesus, my family and friends, not necessarily in that order. I write about all kinds of different things from blog posts about life in general, to book reviews, and devotions on simplyjesusministries.com
