A dear friend, missionary, and fellow blogger shared recently a post she, too, called BLESSINGS. (You can click on the highlighted text to visit her site.)

Bonnie wrote about how much the word “bless” is used and she began to “ponder what does BLESS really mean to me.” She not only shared a few of her thoughts, but encouraged her readers to do the same.

My obedient side prompted me write my own.

The teacher in me is requesting that you do the same.

Go for it.

Here is what I came up with:

Believing in Jesus Christ and in His promises. ~1 Corinthians 1:9

Loving others by the power of Christ in me. ~Galatians 2:20

Entrusting my life and my future to the Creator of the world. ~Jeremiah 29:11, Colossians 1:16

Sure that all things will work for my good and for His glory. ~Romans 8:28

Sharing the truth of His gospel with a hurting world in need of a Savior. ~Matthew 28:19-20

Inspired by His love for us as I study His word. ~Ephesians 2:4-5

Never losing hope in Christ in me and a blessed future with Him for all of eternity. ~1 John 2:25

Growing in the grace and knowledge of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. ~2 Peter 3:18

Submitting to Christ and others with a willing heart. ~Ephesians 5:21, ~1 Peter 5:6

At the risk of wearing out the word, be blessed today as you attempt to be a blessing to others.

A line from an old Baptist hymn has come to my aid many times when I find myself in a valley of discontentment. It goes, “count your blessings, name them one by one.” I am unable to remain low in spirit when I recount what God has done, what he is doing and what He has promised is yet to come. And because my gift is not writing, please forgive my impromptu attempt at a blessings acrostic: Because Love, Every Second, Secures, Indwells, Never Goes Stale!
May we praise God from whom all blessings flow!

“Count your blessings, see what God has done. Count your many blessings, name them one by one!” I couldn’t sing this song and remain discontent either. Thanks for the reminder.

When I am in the middle of struggles there are times that joy drops into the middle of the struggle, It is usually something that is unexpected and at the same time changes my perspective.
