A Week of Thanks {27 Gifts}

November 27, 2014 by

I have found countless reasons in Scripture for us to be grateful to our God for His provision.

As today is the 27th, I give you 27 gifts we receive from God as believers in His Son Jesus Christ:

    If you are anything like me, you read this unbelievable list of gifts and said to yourself how blessed we are to know Him. You also started thinking about the busyness of the day ahead and how nice it would be to spend time clicking on the verses to read what God says about them. I said maybe later. Then I thought through it and realized how slothful I can get. I mean I don’t even have to get up and get my bible to search… just click and it’s there! So I clicked on #11, fellowship. John is writing about fellowship not only with each other, but with God (the same God who’s 27 item gift list we just read! ) and his Son Jesus! I had to sit and ponder that the very God of the universe, who existed before time, and is life himself (vs1-2), is wooing me to fellowship with him. Just think about that as you fellowship with those around your thanksgiving table today!

      Absolutely, Daddy! Your words made this Casting Crowns song come into my head – “How refreshing to know You don’t need me – How amazing to find that You want me.” (from In Me). What an incredible truth that we too often take for granted! While we all need to be Marthas today, let us not forget to be Marys, too. http://myoverflowingcup.com/how-to-have-a-mary-heart-in-a-martha-world/ I love you, Daddy! Give my love to the fam today. xo (Chichi)

        Dear Rick,
        It is easy to see where your precious daughter gets her way with words! How wonderful it is to have you all in our lives! The LORD has truly blessed and favored us with knowing you! Hugs and blessings!

          Thank you for your encouraging words, Mom! We are so abundantly blessed. My heart and my cup truly are overflowing with His goodness. Wishing that we were together today, but knowing that we are in each other’s hearts and thoughts. xo
