I love gifts!

I enjoy being the recipient of a gift and I really, really enjoy being the giver of gifts.

It must be one of my 5 love languages.

*Disclosure: This post includes affiliate links. You are not obligated to make any purchases, but when you do through one of my links or the Amazon search box to the right, I will make a small percentage on the sale. Thank you for supporting my site.

And while the greatest gift the world has ever known has already been given...

For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. ~Luke 2:11 (NKJV)

…this is a season of giving.

Now onto the Blogging For A Cause Update…

To read Blogging For A Cause, click here.

Here is what I shared in my last update:

Let’s keep sharing the love:

1. I’d like to continue blogging for charity, but to simplify the process of tracking this information, I will now donate 25 cents for each new email subscriber. If this blog blesses you, keep sharing, tweeting, and telling friends & family.

2. Would you consider donating to my chosen charity, Haiti Healthcare Partners? You could match my donation, donate another amount, donate to your favorite charity, or pray for the charities around the world who strive to make a difference for the least of these.

After all, Jesus said, “…Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” ~Matthew 25:40 (ESV)

UPDATE as of November 21, 2014:

New Subscribers: 88

.25 cents each = $22.00

That’s not a lot, but I am firm believer that God can do a lot with just a little.

This blog is a result of my passion to encourage others and to glorify God, but I can’t do any of it without all of you. Thank you for your continued support!

May God continue to bless you and yours this Christmas season and throughout the New Year!

Your sweet treat giveaways look wonderful! Thanks for sharing and being such a great example of giving with your whole heart.

  2. Rick

What a great challenge and opportunity to be a part of a such an immense need. As I was looking at some of the photos on HHP’s website, was imagining how many surgical bonnets or masks $22 could buy? Then what about that vile of penicillin they reach for? Or even that box of clean tissue they use to wipe her tears from her face? We can be behind those precious gifts, one click at a time for people we will never meet yet possibly spend eternity with. I’m in!

Congratulations on your new subscribers Heather. I love that idea for a campaign! I may have to do that in the near future! I’m a subscriber right? I get an email every time you post a new post.

I am a coffee fiend my friend… so count me in on this giveaway!

    Wishing you a lovely weekend.
    xoxo

I am like you, I love giving but I also like unwrapping the special gift someone thought to give me. I loved what Rick wrote. One does not always think of the little needs that go with ministry. Like tissues.

  5. Barbara

Thank you for sharing, and for using your blog as a means to collect donations for your causes! I love receiving gifts, too; but not as much as giving…I search all over town for that one special gift for the person I want to give it to…thanks for your 3 giveaways; and congrats to whomever receives them…a special and worthy person for sure!

Guess your “who knows? it might just be you!” was a premonition of sorts?! Thank you soooooo much! May God bless you and your work towards your charities. My daughter’s friend spent many summers in Haiti working with the children; she has recently returned from Africa and is working in the US to earn enough to bring her fiance her to the US. Once again, I appreciate your gift~

  6. Deborah

We don’t do the whole “presents under the tree” tradition at our house. We instead consider that it’s a day to celebrate our Savior’s birth (weather it’s the actual day or not). We ask ourselves, “What would Jesus want for HIS birthday?” It sounds like you are doing this too! I love that you GET Christmas and am in LOVE with your heart for others through Him. Thank you for sharing this example to others.
Oh, and who could go wrong with Starbucks? That bag would last…like…a day at the Farmer’s house. 🙂
    Blessings,

    • Heather

We don’t do the presents under the tree tradition anymore either. We may have a small, homemade, heartfelt gift for each other, but we love to keep the focus on Christ and on others as much as possible. Thanks so much for reading, Deborah.

I love stopping by the blogs of our little community. You ladies have been an unexpected but much appreciated blessing in my life these last couple of months. And as a non-profit founder, I know how much your efforts to bless your chosen charity are appreciated.
